Dateolate: Ahead of the Curve in Going Color-Free

Dateolate: Ahead of the Curve in Going Color-Free

On August 14, Good Morning America aired an important interview with Dr. Tara Narula about the health concerns linked to artificial colors. The conversation shed light on what many consumers have been asking for years — more transparency and healthier choices in the sweets we love.

Just weeks earlier, Mars Wrigley North America announced that starting in 2026, beloved products like M&M’s Chocolate, Skittles Original, Starburst Original, and Extra Gum Spearmint will be made without artificial Food, Drug & Cosmetic (FD&C) colors. It’s a major shift for the candy industry and a sign that consumer demand for clean-label treats is being heard.

At Dateolate, we’re proud to say — we didn’t need to wait until 2026 to make that change. From day one, we have committed to never using artificial colors, preservatives, or additives in our premium date chocolates. Instead, we let the natural richness of California-grown dates and premium couverture chocolate shine, both in flavor and in appearance.

While big brands are now making the move toward cleaner ingredients, Dateolate has always been there. Our customers have trusted us from the beginning for treats that aren’t just indulgent, but also align with their values — dairy-free, gluten-free, and naturally delicious and make them smile :)

The shift in the candy industry is exciting, but we believe it’s also a moment to celebrate brands that have been leading the way. If you’re ready to enjoy a sweet experience that’s as clean as it is satisfying, you don’t have to wait until 2026.

Dateolate — premium date chocolate, no artificial colors, no compromise.
